Consider how difficult the break-up of a family can be for some adults. Now; think about how much more challenging it could be for some children, many of whom do not know what to expect. Studies consistently affirm that the break-up of one’s family is a significant life stressor that often has lasting effects. Moreover, it is well-known that the children are the ones who usually suffer the most when families change. Even so, change is a reality in all our lives. When it comes to divorce; because the children, whose parents divorce, are more likely to divorce as adults, it is a most significant life change that can affect generations. Fortunately, both adults and children can receive appropriate help that can make adjusting to this life-altering event, less traumatic and less painful than it usually is.

This course, is designed specifically to help children, whose parents have divorced or are divorcing. Through this course; children will learn what divorce means. They will learn how some children could be affected when their families change and what steps they could take, to adjust more appropriately. This course was developed for children between the ages of 7 and 17 years old, and it is written in simple, direct language that they will find easy to understand.

Parental involvement in this course is very important. The preference is for both parents to go through the program first, so they can answer any questions that may arise. At the end of the course, each child prints a “Certificate of Completion” with his/her name on it.

This course is available online only and it is NOT intended for court purposes. Parents, who need a mandatory children of divorce course for court purposes, should call (954) 438 5661.
